The Roanoke Adolescent Health Partnership (RAHP) offers health care to Roanoke area teens age 10-19 in tow school-based and one community teen health clinic.  There is no out-of-pocket expense for any adolescent, parent or family.  As part of the Roanoke City Health Department policy, all services are billed to insurance.  Any teen is eligible to use the Teen Health Centers, but all students must have a parental permission form on file to use the centers.

Illness and Injury Treatment

The RAHP clinics are equipped to handle the minor acute illnesses and minor injuries at all three locations.  This accessibility allows walk-in patients to be treated efficiently, often on the same day.

Immunizations

RAHP clinics are staffed with a Registered Nurse from the Roanoke Health Department who schedules immunization clinics on certain days of the week at each location.  Many students have the advantage of being seen at one of the on-school clinics without having to leave the school for immunizations.

Family Planning/Health Education

Students are able to schedule appointments with our health educator or health care providers who are trained to counsel them in many areas of family planning including: abstinence; information and/or treatment of sexually transmitted diseases; and prevention of pregnancy.  This comprehensive session is designed to empower adolescents to make better choices and offers support and medical supervision while enabling adolescents to participate in their medical care.
